  • 2018 Virginia Collaborative Professionals (VaCP) Annual Conference

ShounBach was represented at the VaCP Annual Conference at the Omni Charlottesville on November 12, 2018, by Hayden Lee and Carrie Patterson.  ShounBach was a silver sponsor for the conference, which is an association of collaborative professionals.  The Conference was well attended with 63 attendees from all three professions (mental health professionals, financial professionals, and attorneys).  This year’s Annual Conference included a panel discussion about the passage of the Uniform Collaborative Law Act (the “UCLA”) in Virginia.  Panel members included David Toscano, House of Delegates Democratic Leader in the Virginia General Assembly and Robert J. Merlin, P.A., Chair of the IACP UCLA Committee, who was instrumental in the passage of the UCLA in Florida.  One of the focus points for VaCP in 2019 will be crafting and strategizing the effort to introduce the Bill in an upcoming legislative session.  All VaCP members are encouraged to participate in the lobbying efforts.  For more information on how you can help, reach out to the VaCP Executive Committee (Nancy Douglas Cook, President,ndcook@flaor.com or Carrie M. Patterson, Secretary, cpatterson@shoun.com).
