Attorney Divani R. Nadaraja, recently participated in the annual Color of Justice Program which was held on March 12, 2016 at the Fairfax County Circuit Courthouse. The mission of the Color of Justice Program is to encourage local minority high school students to contemplate the law and the judiciary as potential careers.
This program was sponsored by Northern Virginia Women Attorney’s Association and co-sponsored by Northern Virginia Black Attorney’s Association, Asian Pacific American Bar Association, the Hispanic Bar Association and the Fairfax County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section.
The program consists of small discussion groups, a judges’ panel discussion and a mock trial. The small group discussions are comprised of students, judges and attorneys, in which they discuss the mock trial, and the attorneys and judges answer questions from the students about the experiences, rewards and challenges of being an attorney and a judge.
There was also an essay contest with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners receiving cash awards.
