On March 11, 2015, ShounBach staff members Ann Drake and Amanda Hutchison attended the “Internet of Everything” seminar held at Sensei Enterprises, in Fairfax. Sensei is a local business specializing in digital forensics, information technology, and information security. The seminar, which was sponsored by the Fairfax County Bar Association Paralegal Section, explored how data is collected and stored by unexpected sources. Speakers Sharon Nelson and John Simek provided surprising information about how “smart devices,” which we may use on a daily basis, store data. It’s possible that when those devices connect to the internet, the stored information can be collected by third-party providers, which could potentially affect our cases and clients.
ShounBach attorneys and staff are always working to stay abreast of developing trends in technology and the practice of law so that we can best advise and represent our clients!
