Ms. Bach graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1964 and, with honors, from George Mason University School of Law in 1981. She was admitted to the Virginia State Bar in 1981 and the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Virginia, in 1982. After graduating from law school, Ms. Bach was a law clerk for the Judges of the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Virginia. She entered private practice in 1983.
Ms. Bach served as Chairman of the Law Day Committee and Fee Arbitration Committee of the Fairfax Bar Association. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Fairfax Bar Association, of which she was secretary for two years. She served two terms as an elected member of the Bar Council of the Virginia State Bar, the body responsible for managing the affairs and policies of the Virginia State Bar, and was twice the Chairman of the State Bar Committee on Resolution of Fee Disputes. She was a Commissioner in Chancery of the Circuit Court of Fairfax County, a Neutral Case Evaluator for the Circuit Court of Fairfax County and a Conciliator for that Court.
Ms. Bach retired in 2006. During her career she was a highly respected family law practitioner who earned the highest peer rating from Martindale-Hubbell (AV).
